Every equipment line has one model that offers the most power. For Black Splitter cone splitters that would be the SB. It’s part of the Power Extreme Line, which is built for compact equipment.
Most customers are satisfied with the torque delivered by the Black Splitter S2800 and S2X800, but the SB delivers four times the torque for processing the largest and gnarliest logs and stumps. The fact that the biggest market for the SB is California, home of the Redwoods, says it all.
The key to the SB’s extra torque is the planetary gear system. While the rotation speed is less than other Black Splitter models, the amplified torque more than compensates. And it requires no extra hydraulics or case drain.
The SB isn’t for everyone. If you have an excavator in the 3- to 7-ton range and a yard setting with lots of large and knotty logs and stumps, this splitter is definitely worth considering.
